| Announcement |
It is with much sadness that we are announcing that Stan Grossman is no longer
with the Arizona Andrology Laboratory. He has been part of the family for over
four years. We wish him the very best in all his future endeavors.
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our members and visitors of
our website to Amy Perkins. She is joining the Arizona Andrology Laboratory &
Cryobank and will be your contact for informative responses to all of your semen
analysis questions. She will be completing her master’s degree within the next
month at the University of Arizona. She has been working with an affiliated
fertility research laboratory and will continue to support that area as well.
We are very excited and know that you will enjoy communicating with her. |

Our laboratory offers complete Semen Analysis panel test with
same day results faxed to your physician. All specimens are examined within 20 minutes of delivery to laboratory to ensure the
highest level of accuracy. The laboratory also offers a complete line of Semen Washes or
Semen Processing for intrauterine insemination.
Each wash is “custom tailored” to each patient’s individual
needs. Patients can drop off a specimen at the laboratory for a wash and take it to their physician
for an IUI all in a hour or less, along with a complete two Semen Analysis -- both before and after the
wash. |

The AALC offers quality sperm banking (freezing) as well on a 24 hours a day / 7 days a week basis
to ensure there is no delay in patient treatment and provide a flexible time based on the patients and
physician’s needs. Patients may need to bank or Cryopreserve sperm for many reasons.
Some of these include: |
| |
|
· Chemotherapy or radiation therapy that can leave a man sterile.
|
|
· Surgery that can cause nerve damage that impair fertility.
|
|
· Before a vasectomy as “insurance” in case later circumstances arise in
|
|
which the man desires to be fertile again.
|
|
· During a reversal procedure in case the results are less than optimal.
|
|
· For men at risk to occupational exposure to chemicals or other
|
|
environmental factors that can make a man sterile.

A semen analysis is a great start to checking on a man’s fertility and ability to father a child, but
sometimes there are other factors that can impair fertility.
The AALC offers a full line of advanced semen function testing to check for such factors including a
Strict Morphology test that examines the
shape and features of the sperm in critical detail. Our Antibody Sperm Assay can detect antibodies that can cause sperm to clump together, impairing
fertility. The White Blood Cell count assay can determine if too many of these cells are present in
the semen, which can cause an increase in certain chemical that harm sperm, or may be a sign of
infection. Our Pellet Count test can detect if even a few sperm are present in the semen, and the
Fructose Assay can check for blockage which may be preventing the sperm from being in the
semen. |
| |
| Infertility can be a stressful, troubling, and often confusing issue for many couples.
We take the “mystery” out of infertility. The AALC offers complete, compassionate, and focused counseling to
educate and inform couples on all their test results and outline
all the possible options for them to have a child. Unlike some of the “large labs” that do many, many different kinds of testing, the AALC is
strictly an andrology (male fertility) laboratory. I feel this complete focus allows us to provide the
best possible care for patients and couples that need the best fertility testing possible. |
